Rocket City Bones has been around since 15 November 2014. Over the years, there has been players that have come and gone. But, the most amazing thing is that the number of trombone players that are connected through this ensemble has grown to over 100 trombone players from around the Tennessee Valley.
This ensemble is comprised of trombone players of all levels of playing ability. We have professional gigging musicians, music teachers, arrangers, composer, college students, high school students and middle school students.
Each rehearsal has a focus on a few pieces of music that vary in styles. Each piece of music that we read challenges the individuals as well as the entire trombone choir. We do a lot of custom arranging and composing within the ensemble in order to ensure that everyone can be a part of the music making process. But, if anyone has music they would like to bring in to work on…that is absolutely always welcome.
